Can someone under 18 be accopanied by someone other then a parent or guardian when visiting an inmate?

As in going along with the inmate's family. Not visiting an inmate from prison or anything, just a county jail. Isnt there something a parent can sign in order for the visitor to go with the inmate's family. Can someone under 18 be accopanied by someone other then a parent or guardian when visiting an inmate?
Yes, I went to visit my bf in county jail when I was 17 by myself. He had to make the appointment for visitation and he had to know my birthdate. Then you go and give them your id and off to visitation. Can someone under 18 be accopanied by someone other then a parent or guardian when visiting an inmate?
Depends upon the facility and its policies.

Here, no one under 17 will visit an inmate. Period.

To be honest, after working here for these past years. If I found my 17 yr. old daughter visiting an inmate. I might be found in the holding cell next.
It completely depends on the facility. You need to call their main number and ask.
