How can I get a cook in Pune for my old parents?

My mom is very sick and as looking for somebody who can deliver food or cook food at home. They live in Vishranth Wadi. Can you guys suggest somebody? How can I get a cook in Pune for my old parents?
I am abroad now, but i had hired a cook and baby sitter from an agency called ';Annapoorna Mahila Mandal';

Its near Karvenagar Pune. You can get the number from Pune local phone directory.

I am not sure if they have any of their maids/cooks in your area, but you can get numbers for similar agencies from there.

Or also try yellow pages for catering services (though they usually do the cooking for parties and stuff)

Best way is to check with the neighbors and hire someone staying closeby so that your parents will get food cooked at their home. Majority of households in Pune has a maid for doing the cleaning etc so asking the neighbors is the best way to findone to work for you.

What is the law in India regarding sexual child abuse by a parent?

I had to go through this as a child...and when I came out and spoke about this to my family (mother, brother and sister) all of them just ignored it and this has been a serious trauma for me in my life...badly affecting my ability to make relationships and progress in career..is there a legal remedy for this? What is the law in India regarding sexual child abuse by a parent?
You should not waste more time and file complaint to the Police -- if they don't help you out with this problem-- than you have every legal right to file complaint in court under Section 156[3] Criminal Procedure Code against the person concerned. What is the law in India regarding sexual child abuse by a parent?

What could social services do to help a disability/disabled single parent?

What could social services do to support a disability/disabled single parent, who had lost his wife and has a brain of a 6 year old, to raise his little daughter who is about 6-7 years old?

Any kind answers are appreciated! Thank You!What could social services do to help a disability/disabled single parent?
Anyone you contact about this situation would have the child removed be the father is not mentally capable of taking care of a young child let alone himself.

Here are some resources that should be checked into

1. Make sure the child is receiving SSI because she lost her mother and her father is disabled( the child will receive a monthly check and would qualify you medical coverage)

2. The assistance office ( once they apply the family would receive more medical benefits, heating assistance, rent assistance and food stamps)

3. Area on Aging assists with a variety of things from doing tax returns for free, transportation to personal care like someone doing laundry and cleaning the home. What could social services do to help a disability/disabled single parent?
I doubt Versanti even read the question. The man has the capabilities of a six-year old. DVRS cannot train a 6-year old to work. The person writing the questions also explained that he needs social services to help him raise his child, not to take care of him financially. Read the question before you reply with a knee-jerk answer.
in my area there is an agency that provides support services for parents with cogntive diabilities----clients are referred through teh divsion of developmental diabilities (in teh US)
contact your state's Bureau of Disability %26amp; Voc Rehab. get some job training and/or a degree so that you won't have to depend on social services.

  • How to gain awarness on how to protect our children when a parent is incarcerated.?

1.How could I make the prison system provide more program, better health care and pyschiatric treatment to better offenders while incarcerated. How can the criminal justice system help women offenders better their career status while incarcerated? How to gain awarness on how to protect our children when a parent is incarcerated.?
The public need to get behind this really important issue, great question!

It's shocking how many mentally ill prisoners are not receiving real psychiatric health care and are simply thrown into the general population.

If we want to help offenders (many really don't care and like the ';throw the key away'; answer better) we have to address their specific issues and treat each offender individually. Look at the events that led to her incarceration and work with her in deciding how better to improve her chances of living a more successful and law-abiding life when she is released.

This would involve education, individual assessment and planning. And money. How to gain awarness on how to protect our children when a parent is incarcerated.?
Most facilities have classes to deal with a wide range of issues that women face such as:

    Anger classes

    Sexual abuse classes

How many of your parents are rejoicing that your kid is almost out of the house?

I have a stepdaughter who is rude, disrespectful and has a very mean streak. When she wants her way she intentionally says the most hurtful things she can think of. We're horrible parents because she actually is expected to follow reasonable rules. She'll be graduating and leaving to go to an out of state college.

I can't wait to have my home back and not have to watch my language, look at her messy, stinky, room and be her personal answering service.

I know I sound bitter but I do love her. But when she leaves, we're taking a nice, long cruise to celebrate. Can anyone relate?

Please, don't tell me we didn't try hard enough or I'm a horrible person. I KNOW what we went through. How many of your parents are rejoicing that your kid is almost out of the house?
My 17 y.o. step son is leaving to move back in with his mom in 40 days. Your daughter and my son sound like 2 peas in a pod. He's been a very difficult child to raise. We too, have expected things like decent grades, respectful behavior, etc. but to no avail. We're going on a trip to New Zealand next Dec. to celebrate. Have fun!How many of your parents are rejoicing that your kid is almost out of the house?
that's sad.... I was that stepdaughter once... it is the worst feeling to have somebody come into your life and turn it upside down like that.... I know, I was not nice to any of my stepparents, but its not an easy thing.... and it was expected that i move out when i graduated, and i did... and it is even harder than i ever imagined, please... don't push someone away like that, she probably needs you the most when she seems like she's pushing you away
Well, this probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but I have ten children. My oldest is sixteen. I'm dreading the day she leaves. I love having all my kids so close to me. My second oldest is fifteen and she'll be leaving soon after my first. I just can't imagine letting them go. I know I have to, but I love having the kids RIGHT THERE. We're a very close family. But I suppose I still have a while until my youngest leave.

As for you, I think you have every right to be happy about your step-daughter leaving!
I can imagine! She will change once she gets out into the real world...she will realize what you have done for her... teens are the most difficult time in anyone's life and I have two teen boys to look forward to in the near future.....have fun on your cruise :)

How do two gorgeous parents make an ugly child?

isn't it genetically impossible ... ? i wish i was cute! mother fuckerrr. it sucks being ugly and all. How do two gorgeous parents make an ugly child?
lmao I guess you got shortedHow do two gorgeous parents make an ugly child?
It happens all the time.........I used to date this beautiful girl when I was in high school and her parent's were butt ugly. It works both ways.

You need to go back through some really old photos on both sides of the family. I bet you can find ugly kids to good looking parents and cute kids to ugly ones.

I also knew some pretty scary looking girls when I was a teenager and I have to tell you some of them are knockouts now..........sometimes you just have to wait
have you ever thought that maybe what you think is ugly, may not be what another person thinks is ugly? everyone has different opinions.

i see many ugly features in myself, but my friends manage to keep my self esteem up. the bottom line is, learn to love yourself for the positive things. if you really hate your looks, focus on something that you think you're good at.
Well, sometimes I like to call it karma.

You know when you have two people who think they are better than everyone %26amp; talk bad about people who are not as good looking as them. I like to think that karma bites them in the *** by giving them ugly kids so they can see the error of their ways.
No it's not genetically impossible, it actually happens often. Some of my friends have attractive moms and we just tell them, ';what went wrong with you';, (but only in jokefull way).
They're called recessive genes. Ask your science teacher about them. If you still feel bad about your looks afterwards, consult with a good psychiatrist to boost your self-esteem.
The recessive genes make that happen. It might also be that the mix of good looking genes make a bad mix.
    recessive genes hun.

    hahah that sucks.

    im sorry your ugly.
u are only ugly if you think u are ugly and allow people to make you think ur ugly i bet you parents think ur the most gorgeous child in the world.
I'm wondering the same thing as MemphisMuzicGirl (Suspended)
Girl, stop dragging urself down! Beauty is held in the eye of the beholder!

    Take care of urself
    it's not impossible or anything

my aunt and her husband are not so much good looking

but they have 3 cute children
dont worry.. sometimes it takes a while for you to mature and look goregous just like them... when i was younger i didnt look as good as i did now.. so jus relax, you'll be gorgeous one day too
LOL I starred this question cause your description made me laugh:) loool

    to your question:

lol you're not the only one.. trust me.. ahah
    unfortunate recessive genes
    Who cares...
Everyone is beautiful in God's eyes ! Don't be so hard on yourself !

    JMM
    The gods...
I do not know...everyone says my father and mother are ugly and how did they make such a beautiful child? Maybe ask God when you're gone?
Its just the luck of the draw. lol

    They can.
    I bet it is.

How to get a tattoo when your 13 in ohio without parents ok?

You don't. Simple as that. You will have to wait until you are 16 with parental consent, or you will have to wait until you are 18 to get it done on your own.

Unless you know a scratcher but I don't recommend that. All home made tattoos turn out terrible. How to get a tattoo when your 13 in ohio without parents ok?
Um YOU DON'T....in Ohio it is not allowed to tattoo anyone younger than 17 without parental consent and even then it is really hard to find a reputable artist that will do it then. Most will tell you to wait until your 18. I found one just by luck that would tattoo me with my dad their when i was 17. Most places said no though because of liability because their is no way to know that that person is really your parent. The only way to get one is to find some one who does it in their house and I highly recommend NOT doing that there is so many was to get infections because you have no idea how clean their needles and supplies really are. I would wait until you are 18 and really know what you want. Make sure it means something to you and that when you 80 and saggin you will still want that tattoo on you. I have two and am on my way for my third all of my mean something and my parents know i have and we talked in details about why i want it and where to get it. If you want any more help just email! How to get a tattoo when your 13 in ohio without parents ok?
No place will do it without consent and alot places wont do it with consent unless your 16.. im speaking about legitament places that arent dirty and ghetto. Places can get shut down if they do it without consent, so if your parents find out and get pissed and find out what place did it, theyre screwed.

Besides... you shouldnt get one when your that young bc chances are the place that you will get it on your body will change and the tattoo will get ruined.
Just do get it until your parents either say it's okay or you are of age. Sometimes it's just easier to listen to your parents and not go behind their backs. For what reasons so your parents can yell at you and you are now grounded or in trouble. Some people get kicked out for these kind of things. Why risk it. You'll more than likely get caught. It's not as easy to hide as you think it is.
Your best bet is to know a tattoo guy who's willing to give you one without following the rulebook, but that shot's like one in a million.

You should just try to get multiple piercings. You could do it yourself (even girly-girls at camp do this) or try to find a store at the mall.
Well, you could take a needle from your mom's sewing kit and take any color thread you want! The best part is that you can choose any color it's great :D And then you just start sewing! But if you start bleeding a bunch it's okay! It's normal :D

I usually don't say this but since you actually asked this question, I'm just kidding.
I don't mean to sound like one of those annoying let-downers, but i honestly wouldn't do it. By the time your legal and do not need your parent's consent.. you will have had more time to decide if you want that permanent marking on your skin FOREVER! You are only 13 right now and your interests and everything will probably change, so you wouldn't want a tatoo, and then decide you don't want it. :) Hope this helped!
i am 13 i would never get a tatto. You are making a really stupid decision; it's one thing when your parents know/

    think about it, don't get something stupid, or when you are really old in a retirement home you;ll be saying ';oh , wow, i got this when i was 13, i made such a stupid decision.';

remember it's gonna be there your whole life so idk how ur gunna hide it from your parents!
For crying out loud! You're 13! What you think is cool now won't be so cool when you're 30. I assume you know that tattoos are PERMANENT. Secondly, almost all tattoo artists WILL NOT tattoo a minor. If you want to spend a $100 dollars or more on something you will regret, at least wait until you are 18.
There is no way you can get a tattoo you are way to young,NO reputable artist would even allow you past the lobby.
Good luck finding someone that will tattoo a 13 year old.

You should be playing with barbies, not thinking about tattoos.
Save up your allowance for that cover up or future laser removal in 5 years.
you can't unless you find someone you know to do it .
find a friend to do it, like a friend that knows a tattoo artist
    you don't.

    dumbass.
Get your 12-year-old buddy to do it.
.....christ.... You don't, it's that simple.
    Are you Stupid ?

    Yes you are

i do agree taurus's r extremely stobbern. The aquarious seams to understand me ok. They r not quite as emotional as we r though. How can a pisces deal with aquarius and taurus fixed signs as parents?
    Oh, that's hard.

Well, I don't know about aquas but I have a taurus mom. Taurus seem to be slow to think wisely. When you disagree with them, it's like they just get angry and stop thinking. If you continue the argument, they just get angrier and angrier. It's of no use trying to make them change their mind on the moment. You'd better not insist and let them the time to think, when their anger is over. Well, making this made my relations with my mom more livable.
pisces needs to bow down. and accept that parents are more wiser.

What's so wrong about adults living at home with their parents?

I don't get why today's society sees this as a bad thing or a joke. Everywhere you hear, someone is always making a joke at someone for still staying at home with their parents when they don't even know the person's situation. Suppose the person is going through problems in their life that requires them to live with someone other than on their own, even if that someone is their mother or father. I really think people in this society need to GROW UP and stop teasing people when they don't even know the whole situation of that particular person. What's so wrong about adults living at home with their parents?
Mike- I totally 100% percent agree with your posting!

My oldest son still lives at home with me and for all it's worth he's my: Best friend, renter, shoulder to cry on, we laugh, go for outing, and last we respect one others space. He doesn't do drugs, not a drunk, nor does he steal, and is always helping others. Ya people think it may be wrong, or may think he should be on his own, but however, when I start listening to those who don't contribute to our household, needs or pay our bills is the day I will take what they say to heart BUT to that day, ';THEY CAN MIND THEIR OWN BACKYARD'S';!

Edit: I forgot to mention; Also in these times and days we need to stick together. Family needs to help one another out, This is the only way out of these trying times...That are only going to see harder times, with all these layoffs to come. We are in a recession. What's so wrong about adults living at home with their parents?
It's not bad! The people who are having hissy fits about it are jealous because they are busting their butts to rent some dumpy apartment or pay their mortgage on a house that could go back to the bank any second. I think if you have a job and help out there is nothing wrong with it.

housing is so over price you would have to get a jumbo loan and then some

most adult got price out of the housing market .$580,000 $680,000 in ca watch the run up in home price year by year 1997-2007 $350,000 for a house that look like a old barn what is going on? Now new home 40% 50% 60%70% off.

i dunt know either. i mean you could be a person is is very close to ur parents and have a good relationship with them. As long as you have a job and can take care of urself and help ur parents out i dunt see the problem. the bad thing would be being dependent on them financially and in other ways till you were an adult. that would look bad. i guess people just assume if you still live at home it's becuase you are dependent on ur parents and dunt realize that you could just be really close to them or have other reasons to stay with them.
i dont think its bad i'm 20 and i live with my mom but i want to move out. i moved out at 17 and just moved back home due to money issues but beside that i dont really get it either people hit hard times or just cant function correctly and wont tell people that so i honestly feel they should lay off people too.

but the only bad thing about really living with them is privacy.
I have nothing against it .

But you have more of a reason than anyone else.

I am living at home cause I can't find a decent job in which I can live on my own.

Thats my problem. pisses me off.

I upkeep the house and pay bills and rent. I buy my own food. etc
it's just natural - a person grows up and wants to find a place where s/he can live by him/herself. if the person decides to live with parents then s/he hasn't grew up yet... I see this as abnormal
    OK.
I don't think it's a bad thing, and with the economy the way it is, it's probably a smart move. Both of my older siblings have lived with my parents during their adult lives, mostly in order to save money and live rent free. When I graduate college in May, I'll be moving back in with my parents; I'll have student loan payments, and there's no way I can handle those AND rent AND utilities in New York City on a starting salary.
no one realy thinks like that..i think thats just the media making fun of people that cant find a girl to date and marry..and still live with their parants..at like 40 0r 50 for that reason ..
well theres nothing wrong with it as long as they are recieving the help they need. psychiatrists are very good at helping the mentally disturbed.

How much emphasis should parents lay on inculcating good morals in their children?

imparting the good moral values is the most important aspect that parents should emphasize upon. these serves as the base for development of children.

good morals such as Respect, Love, Sharing Nature, Friendly, etc. are something the child has, is loved by everyone. Apparently, the parents also feel proud when people around comes and say the child of that particular person is very good.

    In earlier times, someone said

    Put Kaput Kim Dhan Sanche,

    Put Saput Kim Dhan Sanche.

It means that CHILD is the sole WEALTH of parents.

If a child is not imparted with ethics and values, whatever you save for him, he will ruin.

If a child is imparted with ethics and values, you need not to save anything for him, he will be self-made and he will earn on his own.

My advice for every parent is that instead of making money, give your time to your childrens. Your time is very precious for them and values imparted by you is the inherited wealth for them.

Do rate ma answer so that i can know where i stand ? ? ?How much emphasis should parents lay on inculcating good morals in their children?
    1. to teach the children that all the people around are humans like us.

    2. to respect others - in order to get respect.

    3. to teach the children that politics is a science and realigion is a faith. and never combine both. How much emphasis should parents lay on inculcating good morals in their children?
I would say it's at least 85% of upbringing.
alot, i guess, that's what are there for.
    a lot of
    a great deal!

How to convince the parents to get me a cellphone?

I'm going to be 15 soon and I want a cellphone SO badly. All of my friends, even my friends little siblings, have cellphones. My parents got my older brother, 16, one and he barely cared about cellphones. I think if it were up to my dad I'd get one, but my mom is dead set against it. How do I convince them to get me one for my birthday? And would the Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220 be too much for me?How to convince the parents to get me a cellphone?
my parents are exactly the same way. my dad ordered me one and when it got here my mom told me i couldn't have it. im turning 16 and all of my friends have them. i have a job and can pay for it myself but they still don't let me. i really don't think there is any way to change their minds.....How to convince the parents to get me a cellphone?
Tell them it would be safe to have one. Since you are a teen, and you go alot of places by yourself, you would need a cell phone to contact them. First, try asking them for a simple cell phone, such as a prepaid phone. Try a tracfone. They cost only $10, and they are only $20 for a card per month. Maybe if they see you can manage this phone, they might let you get something more advanced, such as the Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220. Hope it works!
well think about it you will be driving soon so a cell phone would be good to have.

if you are hanging with friends and you need your parents to pick you up you need a cell phone for this

my parents got me a cell phone because of these reasons

How to convince my parents to adopt another dog?

My next door neighbors these puppies over and my parents love them but we already have a dog and they don't want another one. My sister and I both really like this one puppy but we don't know what to do to adopt it. Its an adoption so it either cant cost alot or nothing at all. Not too sure. The other thing is that its almost winter up here and they don't want to train a puppy in the winter but he will be adopted within a month. ThanksHow to convince my parents to adopt another dog?
If your thinking of getting another dog, consider the opposite sex. 2 girls and 2 boys tend to fight. But bring up the subject that maybe your dog needs a friend when he's home aloneHow to convince my parents to adopt another dog?
usually to adopt a dog its about $50-100 so it shouldnt be much money. and to convince your parent you should keep your grades up and makesure you always keep your room clean. Just dont do the thing that they get annoyed with and do the things that theyre always bugging you to do. If you do all of this and then ask they should say yes. but if they dont be mature about it and dont beg. they may see that you are mature enough to take care of another dog and allow you to get another 1. hope this can help you!
Make sure to tell them your responsible and maybe raise some money to help feed the dog and buy some supplies for it and do your research on the dogs to make sure their right for you and don't keep bugging your parents about it trust me THAT WON'T WORK lol and you should make sure your room is clean and do things around the house without your parents asking you to do so.Hope this helps :)
puppies are a lot of work.. it also takes longer than a month to train a puppy. If you get a puppy now, you WILL be doing housebreaking in the winter.. no one wants to go out in the freezing cold every hour or so to take the pup out to pee!
Honestly, hun, you can't just convince them to get a dog if they don't want one. It is their house and they will be the ones taking care of it most likely. And winter is a *very* bad time to get a new puppy. You need to walk the dog around the clock. Who will walk it when you are in school? Do both of your parents work?

Don't get me wrong, I love animals! I have a dog and cat of my own and plan to get another dog soon. I actually plan to get a puppy. But I'm an adult and I am financially capable of having a puppy and I have the time to take care of the puppy. I will be rescuing it in the summer and, since I teach, I will be home to care for it and train it.

The initial adoption fee is nothing compared to the long term cost. Yes, you fell in love with the puppy. I have been there many times. But you need to realize that it's just not the right time to get another dog. Don't badger your parents about it. Appreciate the dog you have now and get another dog when the time is right. The economy is in the tank right now so many people cannot afford the cost of having many pets. Many, many people have had to take their pets to the pound because they can't afford them. Be grateful that you have a pet that is loved and taken care of now. Could you imagine having to give him/her up and never see her again?

I do know how you feel (I have been in your exact situation). I know you'll be upset reading this, but it's reality. The puppy will find a caring, loving home. He doesn't deserve to be in a home where all members of the family (your parents) aren't excited to have him.

  • When appointing someone a guardian of a child what rights do the parents lose?

My parents are wanting me to appoint them guardians of my daughter so that she can be put on their insurance. I'm very nervous about doing this. Isn't that like giving your child away? I'm unsure. When appointing someone a guardian what does that really mean? If anyone can give me some info and/or some websites that can explain it to me it would be a great help. I don't know if the state you live in makes a difference but I live in Missouri. When appointing someone a guardian of a child what rights do the parents lose?
i thought it ment like if you get sick or something or your child gets sick and you can't pick the child up tehy would have them you should look it up on googleWhen appointing someone a guardian of a child what rights do the parents lose?
As an retired Social Worker my understanding of appointing some one guarding, would be the case if you the parent were not able to care for your child. I think to put your child just on their insurance is illegal. It would be called fraud. If thats is the case that the only thing that is wrong with your parenting that you do not have adequatley child insurance. than I advice you go to your local social services. Here depending on which state you live in, and what your income is you could sign your child up with the program that is called CHIP. = Child health insurance program. it is for low income families and their children. I know now that there is certain cutt off times that you can sign your child up for. I would not give guarding to your parents. Cause that is not a proper reason. Good luck hope that is helping you. If you have any more questions please email me AngelikaBertrand@msn.com subject guardina.
You can trust your parents. Its not about the law all the time.

Nobody is taking away your baby.
You do NOT lose your parental rights. You are simply giving your parents the right to act on your behalf if you are not around. I know this because I am the guardian of my nephew. If it makes you feel better, specify this when you go in front of the judge and write it on any papers that you sign in regards to this. You can ask the judge whatever you want about this at your court date and if you are not comfortable with it, you do not have to have the judge file the papers.
i am sure it depends on the state. but, typically a legal gaurdian has the right to make almost all decisions. is there no other alternative for healthcare?
It is pretty much the same as signing all rights over
I wouldn't recommend it, especially if your relationship isn't great. By allowing them to become guardians, the court will view you as admitting you are unable to care for your child. Explaining that you simple wanted to slip thru an insurance loophole won't look great either.

If your employer doesn't offer medical insurance, get your child on state medicaid. That way you don't have to give up any of your parental rights just to get your daughter medical care.
    http://www.cga.ct.gov/2005/rpt/2005-R-08鈥?/a>
Guardianship is not done by appointment or power of attorney; it requires court action to appoint a guardian and court action to remove one.

If you're signing an ';in loco parentis'; power of attorney, you're basically appointing them to take any parental action you could take -- while retaining those rights for yourself. You could also revoke such a power of attorney at any time.

Perhaps you could have an attorney in your state draw up a special power of attorney granting your parents authority to take actions ';in loco parentis,'; to include child care, authorizing medical procedures, etc. If you can get the phrase ';de facto guardian'; thrown in there, that may be all the insurance folks need.

    Excerpt:

Guardians and Conservators Under Missouri Law

    What is a Guardian?

A guardian is a person who has been appointed by a court (usually the probate division of the circuit court) to have the care and custody of a minor or of an adult person who has been legally determined to be incapacitated.

Basically my interpretation of this is that your parents would then be able to make any and all decisions regarding your daughters education, health care, emergency medical care, and anything else you can imagine. They would be able to remove her from your custody and they would be able to limit your access to her.

How is your relationship with your parents? Could they be using this as an excuse to trick you into giving up custody?

I would be VEEERRRRY careful with this. Probably consulting real legal help would be the best. I would also suggest that your parents putting her on their insurance as her guardians would be insurance fraud because she is not in their care, so that would suggest to me that this is a trick on their part.

    Good luck.
In the UK it gives them parental responsibility, but doesn't remove yours. Consult a lawyer - and/ or take responsibility for your own child and take out adequate insurance yourself.
Normally you can specify in the paperwork to what extent the guardianship grants rights.
the rights that the guardian gained....
You don't lose any rights. It just gives your parents permission to act in your absence. You can also put an end date on the guardianship.

When you join the military you can't have a child in custody. You need to turn over custody so someone else can care for the child's needs. You still have all your rights. Put an end date on the paperwork.
Do you mean a guardian in case you died? Or do you mean a legal guardian? You must mean the second or they wouldn't be able to put your daughter on their insurance. I think you should be nervous about it. Tell your parents that you can get your own insurance.
you are passing over all rites to your parents you need to speak to a solicitor b4 u sign anything to be sure you don't make a major mistake
I wouldn't do it ..... guardianship means custody and u r basically giving up all your rights.... if u need insurance that bad try applying for state help..... please dint do it regardless of the situation u r in .... some states are different so different laws apply its not worth losing ur child over%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt; also if u do decide to do it make sure they sign a contract agreeing that whenever u want the guardianship back that u will automatically get it and that even tho they have the guardianship u still make all the important decisions in this child's life and in that case a decisions.
missouri is like nebraska if you sign over the gardian thing then your basically signing your daughter over to them and you lose all parental rights basically...contact a local lawyer in family law and ask to just speak to a ;lawyer and i bet they'd even tell ya not to do it unles you want to lose your rights too...i'd be wondering why your parents are asking you to do that and ask them if they want you out of your daughters life or something...be very wary on that and i am not kidding hun!!

What will happen to the teen girls that were removed from their parents and the polygamist sect in Texas?

I agree that they should give the younger children back, and that all of the children were not in danger of abuse. But what are they going to do about the teen girls who were in danger of abuse? What will happen to the teen girls that were removed from their parents and the polygamist sect in Texas?
Unfortunately the TX Supreme Court has decided they don't matter,as it has ordered them returned. Guess it's time for them to go back to forced marriages to old geezers and having 5 children by 20. Kind of sad really, but at least the authorities tried I guess.

YTPWhat will happen to the teen girls that were removed from their parents and the polygamist sect in Texas?
The action of the TX Supreme court returns everyone to their former life. If they are unhappy then at least they have had contact with the authorities and can petition for redress.
What ever became of the teen that originally alerted the law? I don't think the authorities ever found her.
Fore one.. you say the children were not in danger becasue they were not teens yet.. Well they will be so therefore in my book, they are in danger. and as for the teen girls.. they will probaly be married to some perv..
Every one of those girls will be raped by the time she's 14 or so, if they're returned to the cult.

What percentage of gay parents children turn out gay ?

I know that it's about 30 to 50 % but I don't know the exact numbersWhat percentage of gay parents children turn out gay ?
    30 to 50%???

I don't know where you get your data, but I would stop getting it there.

The children of gay parents are no more likely to be gay than anyone else. Which is to say 6 - 9%.What percentage of gay parents children turn out gay ?
30-50%?! Where did you see that?

Homosexuality has several causes, but none of them can be traced to being ';homosexually influenced';. There are some tribes where sex outside of marriage is a major taboo, so young men are actively encouraged to have sex with their male friends, or with older men. Yet even in those societies the average number of gay men is still about 4%.

So, just to be clear, you can't spread it! :-)
Probably a lot less then the number of straight parents gay kids. However, in a gay parent family the children probably feel more comfortable coming out with their sexuality.

P.S. I think 30-50% is way to high to be correct.
You are full of crap. Only way that could happen with those numbers is if both parents were gay, meaning the man and the woman were gay and got together for the sole purpose of having a child.
The percentage of Gay people has been approximated to be 10% so I don't know where you got those crazy numbers.
I can find no evidence of any scientific study to confirm your numbers

How do I convince my parents to let me buy an airsoft gun?

I have been wanting to get an airsoft gun for a while now and my dad is fine with it, but my mom doesn't want my brothers getting hurt and she doesn't like what they ';stand for';. I have been very responsible and my parents know that, but my mom doesn't like them. So is there anything that I can do besides for the clean your room, prove your responsible, etc.How do I convince my parents to let me buy an airsoft gun?
You have to convince your Mom that *you* are responsible enough to have an airsoft gun.

How are you going to do that?

    1. Take a gun safety course. There are lots of places that offer this course -- cadets, scouts, gun clubs, shooting ranges. If you don't have money for the course, go to the gun club and tell them your problem. Tell them WHY you want to take the course -- and ask if there is any adult in the club who might be willing to ';sponsor'; you. SOMEONE WILL.

    2. After the gun safety course, join a gun club or a shooting range. I was shooting .22s at a gun club when I was 13. If you can handle a .22, you can probably be trusted to own an airsoft gun. If you are starting to learn about bigger guns, probably your mom will want you to stick with an airsoft gun -- and she might even let you buy one (now that you've learned how to use them safely.)

    3. To really show your Mom that you understand the danger of gun accidents, volunteer at the hospital for a couple of weeks visiting other kids who got hurt by knives, guns, motorbikes, skateboards, etc. These kids are lying in bed bored and alone -- just visit with them and talk to them. If it was you lying there, you'd be really happy for the company. This will show your mother that you are very mature -- and you understand what might happen if you are not careful with the gun.

Basically, you want to convince your mother that you are MATURE enough to have a gun.

    So, behave maturely.

And good luck. How do I convince my parents to let me buy an airsoft gun?
tell her they don't even hurt, and you're still never gonna shoot them at people because you would NEVER risk putting someone's eye out. and even if you tried you couldn't hurt anyone with them. and make sure you tell her you're mature enough that you won't get any ideas from having a gun. like if you were to buy grand theft auto, she would think you're impressionable and it would teach you bad morals. make sure that she knows you won't get any bad morals from having a gun. moms are crazy just play to her psychoses.
First of all- (dont tell them this) but your in a shell thats too protective. I'm 12. I have a .243 and i got a paintball gun for my 11th B-day. But anyways airsoft guns arent that dangerous but when your mom doesnt like what they stand for thats tough to get by. Tell her you arent likely to end up a gangster and killer just cuz you got an airsoft gun.
My brothers gone through the same thing.

    Like three times.

They are a waste in my opinion.

But if they tell you no,

    and you complain about it,

do you think its gonna make them want to get it for you?

    No.

So dont complain, just wait until your mom sees it your way.

    She will eventually.

    Oh and uh p.s

dont pull that ';but all my friends have them'; crap.

No one cares what your friends have.

They have different parents with different rules
Prove to them that your not going to shoot your bros and that youre going to put them where your brthers wouldnt get to them. Also it helps you point out that youre old enough to have one. like saying mom im 15! and I have friends that are way younger than me that have airsoft guns!!
You could tell her that the pellets are sooo small they dint hurt unless up close. (which im assuming you would not do)

Or tell her that you would only use it outside while your brothers are somewhere else. Good Luck!
show them how much you want it. Also offer to buy youre brothers safety goggles or something. I think youre mom is being way to protective
Let them keep it. when you want to play with it ask them.

How do I get my parents to discipline me?

I know this sounds weird, but whatever I do, I don't get punished. I did some horrible things and got arrested and sent downtown once and my mom and dad just talked to me for 15 minutes while me an my mom were sitting with the T.V. on the MTV channel. I didn't get grounded, after the 15 minutes my parents just forgot about it pretty much.

I got whipped once, but for something completely stupid recently

I feel like they don't care about me or what I do. I hear about other kids being punished but not me. At one point in time I even considered doing a MAJOR crime a few months ago.

BTW: I don't get chores because my grandma cleans the whole house when I'm at school, she lives with me and is retired and she gets bored. I'm 14 years old.How do I get my parents to discipline me?
wow i would say u r lucky, but i think i kno how u feel, well kinda...

all i kno to say is sorry.

ps im 14 2How do I get my parents to discipline me?
You're really not lucky. You'll understand when you're older that your parents aren't doing a good job of raising their children. :-/ Sorry.

i never said she was lucky, i meant that most kids would think they r lucky to not be disciplined, but that it really isnt a good thing...

people on here are retards, think about what i actually said b4 u give me the oh so evil ';thumbs down'; %26gt;=[

hey, we all make mistakes no matter what age. It doesn't make you a bad kid, It just means maybe you need some guidance. Sit down and talk with your parents about activities you can do in your community. If you really want your parents to listen they probably will. Chin up and good luck !

Drink gas whenever you are bad.
perhaps your parents are taking a unique approach to the situation. their nonchalant response to your activities may be their way of punishing you! maybe they want you to be the one to realize that what you're doing is wrong on your own...it seems to be working because you are feeling guilty about not being punished which means you know what you did is wrong. just talk to them and let them know how you feel. tell them you think that they don't care. communication is key here
well, you might not think i would know what im talking about because i am 14 too, but i had the same problem. you might try talking to them about it. tell them that you feel like they dont care about you and that that's the reason for all the bad stuff you did (do). it worked for me and i just might work for you. i hope this helped, because i know how upsetting it is to feel the way you do.
your parents shouldnt whip you. thats child abuse, and just enjoy it. dont give them any reason to punish you. Getting arrested when your 14 isnt exactlly something most collages or bosses want as a quality in a person...
Oh honey.... you need to walk over to that Damn TV and turn it off... then Tell your Mom and dad you need to talk to them..... Explain that youre starting to feel as if they dont care about you enough to disipline you. Tell then that you dont want to do bad things but you feel that is the only way to get their attention. You dont want negative attention though....
Hi. Maybe you should be asking how do I get my parents to pay me more attention. You don't actually want them to beat you do? You just want assurance and more attention from them if you do things to see if you will get punished..... You need to talk to them about this. Or just leave this up on your computer screen, write it down or something. Just make sure they see it.
How about coming right out %26amp; ask them why they aren't better parents? Tell them exactly what you said here. I agree with you; they act like they don't care. See how they respond to that. Hopefully, they're just stupid %26amp; don't know any better. Maybe you should buy a book on how to be a good parent.

I know what you mean, tho. I had a good friend in high school whose parents let her do whatever she wanted. She would say she had a curfew even tho she didn't. Her parents loved her; her mother sewed all of her many clothes. I don't know why some parents seem to think that their children can raise themselves.
Maybe you are smarter than your parents. Obviously, you know right from wrong. Use this knowledge to get ahead in life and quit worrying about your lax parents.
Here's a different solution, don't do things that would harm other people; and there will be no reason to need discipline.

I don't want my parents to care for me. Not in that sense. I love em, but I'd never stop them from making a choice, even if I thought it was foolish. This is how I show respect.
You're wanting attention, who doesn't. Your parents probably just don't know how to parent you. Try sitting down and talking with them, if you can get them to, and ask why. Tell them that you are still young and having a hard time making good choices; you don't want to end up in jail, and you'd like a little help. Something as simple as that might get their attention, it might not. If they get mad, what's the worst they can do, punish you? But whatever, your life is ultimately up to you. If they're not going to be the parents you must. No matter what your parents do you are responcible for yourself. You sound mature, mature enough to want to be pointed the right direction. Many young people have made it through situations like yours to become happy productive adults, who are good for the community. You can talk to your parents, and I pray that they will listen to you, but how you turn out is up to you.

You do need a responsible adult in your life, someone to model after, or to just talk to to if your conversation with your parents doesn't go well, try talking to a councellor at your school, or find a local church. Many have youth pastors who will know what your going through, if not by personal experience, by watching countless other kids go through it. And even if they don't have a youth pastor, the church's pastor can offer councelling which could be very valuable.

I'll be praying for you. If you want to talk, just drop me a note.
    Maybe your parents just don't believe in discipline. Talk to your parents and say ';I think you guys just need more rules for me.'; ';Your letting me go outside the boundaries.';
Well, maybe if you just sit your parents down and tell them how you feel well then maybe they would listen!!!
Now, this is either a CRY FOR HELP or a total fabrication for attention -- or both. (How did that sound?) Your actions are actually just that, you need love. In fact, boys and men will ALREADY understand this about you, and are probably already taking advantage of you wherever they can -- and you think you're keeping up %26amp; handling it. But, not really.. You need to be talked to, and spend time with.. You don't need to be beaten.. you need to know that you're a real young woman, that needs her own time %26amp; space to study and read and be 14. Your friends are probably real horses' as*es -- and will still be on the streets, when they're 14 and 44, if they're not living in a cardboard box or in jail. You need to show that you're SMARTER and stronger inside, really. By writing here, you're already halfway there. You SHOULD simply sit and chat with your grandmother and talk about HER and her life, for whatever she recalls. She might be an idiot, or she might be the sweetest woman that's made some mistakes (and done some good things, too) that you may learn from.
well talk to ur parents about that or even ur grandma she sounds like she might understand
when I was a teenager many years ago my parents had a what ever attitude(I'm #9 in 11). So I took it upon myself to give myself a crefew etc.. I looked @ what other parents were doing for my friends and followed them. It made me a better person and in the long run a much better parent than the other 10
I, for one, am glad to hear that you want to be punished for doing wrong. But I think that even if you parents don't punish you for doing wrong you should be as well behaved as you can dispite them. I'm sorry you feel that your parents don't care about you, I'm sure they do more than you know. Help your Grandma and behave.
    Why don't you yell out:

You don't care about me! I can do anything wrong, and you just chat for 15 minutes and I can go out and do it again. You are my parents! Have you forgotten that? You have a child! It's me! I am a child! Are you to stupid to know what it is to be parents, or are you just indifferent because you wanted a boy and only got me!

and so on... Practice in the bathroom, but be aware that the yelling may sound less impressing in the livingroom - at least if you have carpets on the floor...

Or show them your question. If you can tell them what you wrote here, in the same polite way, they will listen. But again, then they may be even more convinced that you are so mature that you only need your parents as friends you can chat with.

So stick to yelling. You are just 14, and is expected to yell. And it works.

The next day you can apologize, because you should have done it long ago.
Go straight to the source. Have a heart-to-heart. If they don't budge, try talking to your Grandmother.
You can't change your parents, but it might help to sit down and talk to them! Maybe they have a reason! Are they guilty about something! After I got divorced, I spoiled my kids, because I felt guilty for failing them! Then my son started acting out, and I realized what I was doing! He was only 7 years old! So I changed my ways, and he turned out great!

So sit down, and talk seriously with your parents, and maybe things will change!

Acting out will only harm you, and your parents!

    Remember communication works best!
Messing up is not the best way to get attention from your parents. Try making them proud of your achievements. It takes longer but is much better. Good luck and take care.
Don't do stupid things and get into trouble with the law...that follows you forever. Quit doing stupid things.......if they won't ground you...ground yourself!! I know a lot of kids who would love to be in your shoes. Feel greatful that they don't beat you everytime you do something stupid.
Don't mess your life up just to get attention. Doing a major crime can get you locked up in jail for the rest of your life, then you'll get lots of attention. Not only from the courts by also from the other inmates who want a young lil gf. Ask your parents if they love you %26amp; if they care about what you do. It sounds like you know right from wrong. Some parents just take the easy way out when it comes to raising their kids. Be a good girl so you can have a ';free'; life instead of a life as an inmate.
OK. you can probably sue your parents for neglect (trust me, BOTH my parents are lawyers). Your parents are doing a really bad job. at least, you know there is something wrong.

Well, don't ask to be punished, but try and see where the line is (try other ways of getting in trouble, maybe they'll notice)

    You have really bad parents......
You want attention, this is understandable. Don't act out though and commit some huge crime. You def. don't want the attention you'll receive in prison from the other inmates. You should talk with your parents about how you feel like they aren't playing their role of parent very well because you feel neglected.
okay i noe that sounds heartbreaking but you're lucky your parents don't discipline you
There are a few ways you can look at this. Either your parents growing up had it really hard, ie: got spanked bad, their parents were really hard on them, or maybe they feel as though sitting down regardless if its in front of a t.v. watching MTV and talking to you would be better than just yelling at you over every thing you do thats wrong. It sounds as though you are also taking advantage of them not diciplining you. From what you commented on, you sound like you know whats right from wrong and you still go ahead and make the wrong choice's. Sit down with your parents with the T.V. off and ask them why they dont punish you. You both may find out a little more about each other than you think. BTW you should try to help your grandma out with cleaning, she isnt there as the maid she is doing You a favor, appreciate it and dont take advantage of it.
You may think that getting punished is a way for them to show they care, and sometimes it is. But maybe instead of getting in trouble to see their reaction is not a good idea. For example, a criminal record could affect you for the rest of your life and in ways you may not have thought of yet like government assistance (should you ever need it) and getting some jobs. What you want is attention from them, not punishment. Maybe you should hold a family meeting with your parents and grandmother. Tell them the real reason you got yourself arrested. They probably have no idea you feel a little neglected. Also, you should offer to help your grandmother with chores after school. That would give you time to spend together. She would probably enjoy your company and wouldn't be so bored. You'd be surprised at the stories she could tell you about her own childhood. It would be a great way for you to show your appreciation of her. Remember, she won't be alive forever and you may regret later the time you could have spent with her instead of getting in trouble. I hope this helps.
    Maybe your parents honestly don't understand why you're doing these things. Sounds like they want to be more of a friend to you than a ';mean parent.';

You've got to bring this up to them. Talk to them about the fact that you feel uncared for because they don't punish you for doing anything wrong. Tell them that's why you did what you did to get arrested. Tell them you considered committing a major crime to get their attention.

They sound clueless. Clue them in, it might help.
    ur parents dont care
    discipline yourself

How do I convince my parents?

I want a pet, a kitten to be specific and they won't let me have one because they think that kittens cause diseases, how can i PROVE that kittens don't cause diseases and are completely harmless? I really really want one =(How do I convince my parents?
Ha! Well, maybe you should start by recommending that your parents get their GEDs.How do I convince my parents?
Not to be harsh, but it sounds to me like you haven't done your research. Do some research with reliable sources and prove what you want to prove. Also do research on cat/kitten care in general (I recommend ';Cat, be Good'; by Annie Bruce) and find out what breed, gender, personality you want. Promises to 'take care of him/her all of the time'; are often ineffective. To be even more responsible, offer to pay for part of the adoption fee or supplies. Have fun, and remember: Spay/neuter %26amp; Don't declaw! =]
start a petition. i'll sign it. :) but you have to promise to love it for as long as it lives and to give it immaculate care.
research kittens and find information online stating they don't. Chances are they are using this as an excuse.

However, if you research it and provide information about cats they may see how serious you are and think you're ready for a pet.

Prove your responsibility and maturity. Think of it as a school project on Kittens - find as much info as possible and present it to your parents.

Thats a great way to show maturity, responsibility, and desire.
Look on the web for a appropriate breeder or a pet store that ensures cats are harmless makes sure if you get a cat that it is de-wormed has its shots and vaccines and if its spayed or neutered you don't want 6 new Born kittens in house like i did. Look around if your going to get it from a breeder consider there living conditions and how they treat there own cats. Whatever you do don't get a cat from a massive breeder AKA breeding 6 cats at a time......I did that seriously my cat has problems ...(by the way i got 2 cats first one i didn't do what I'm saying right now second one it was fine and every thing but it was the cat that had kittens WHAT A MESS ewwwww)

P.S if you follow those steps and act like you know what your doing your parent should be convinced..........Good luck!
are you old enough to move out? if your are threaten to do that, parents hate that, and there is nothing to prove, they are just using this as an excuse not to let you have a pet, so if they say no to a cat, then tell them you want a snake (I know you dont, just say it) and watch them freak out, Im a mom and my boys have snakes, oh well they take care of them I DONT!!!
Buy a Kittens for Dummies book or maybe find the vet you would be taking your cat too and ask for assistance. You will need to find a vet for your cat anyway so I would suggest looking like the responsible, educated person you are and doing your research for your parents who are strange for believing that cats cause diseases.

Maybe they think that because it would be an outside cat? I hope it would not be since if it were an outside cat it would be more prone to fleas and injuries etc.
The fact they are cleaner than humans and give you their devoted love and loyalty.

Kittens have no way of 'causing' diseases unless they catch them off something else, so there is no way they can just get a disease out of nowhere suddenly. They need to be in contact with something else to contract it.

Chances are the Kitten gets something from something a human leaves out.
Your parents are right they bite and scratch a lot and if you get 1 it might pee and poo on the floor and drive you crazy.

They a cute and playful but it will drive you nuts.
i doubt your parent actualy believe that

they are just trying to scare you
I have the same problem. Alough its not that they think they will cause deseased, but they dont like the idea of a litter box and they need to get a new car first lol =]

Ask a question on here about feline deseases and how to prevent them, show the responses to your parents.

Also, to prevent from the cat possably having a bug, adopt a cat from the shelter, they are guaranteed to be fixed and come with all of there shots.
you cant, your parents are using this as an excuse lol
If you want to prove them wrong, you should research kittens and cats and site articles and books disproving them. Try your local library, make copies of articles, etc. Write them an essay on cats and their proper care, veterinary and other wise. Look up what type of food is best, how much it costs, how much you would need to feed one cat for one month based on the daily recommended amount.

Remember to be as grown up as possible through this, no using the famous phrase ';It's not fair,'; no slamming doors, and no begging. You need to show them that the kitten will be your responsibility. Take on extra responsibilities around the house as well, doing dishes without being asked, dusting and vacuuming, wash some windows or clean the toilet.

Are you old enough to have a job? If so you can assure them that you will pay for the kittens food, litter, and vet care. If not perhaps you could bargain your allowance if you get one, be used on the animal's care, or offer to do even more chores to make up for the expense. Mow the lawn, fold everyone's laundry? You could even try your hand at baby sitting, dog walking, or tutoring younger students to make money to put toward the kitty's care.

Ultimately, the best way to show them that kittens don't cause diseases is to look it up and get your facts, then present them to your parents in a respectful manner. If the issue at hand here is really about who will take care of the cat, you'll have to work a little harder to convince them. Good luck!
Well, first, your parents doesn't believe that. They think that you might not be ready for the responsiblity of having a pet. Its a lifelong commitment. Cats can live up to 15 years. Also, its the vet cost, the weekly cost of buying foods, litter, home getting mess up, etc. However, if that hasn't convince you yet, then you might want to keep on asking them over and over again until they get you one. When I was little, I wanted a kitten, and I just kept on asking my mom over and over for like a month until she gave in. Then I just brought one home, and she feel in love with our kitten. We has her for 9+ years now. So good luck.
first of all, suprise them by doing more chores without them telling you. thats how i did it, and my parents said the same thing to me. they also said it was an excuse for me not to have a kitten. after a year of hard work, i finally got a kitten.

What to do when a parent favors a child?

My brothers and I are adults, but one brother in particular my dad has always favored. My bro is getting married now and my dad is bouncing off the walls with excitement. He never gets excited like that for the rest of us. I know it's childish to feel jealous but it still hurts. What to do when a parent favors a child?
This is a terrible situation-but it is not your brother's fault- so do not be angry with him- unless he's a jerk about it too

It is not childish to be upset by this-even now-and I do not think that it is jealousy that you are feeling

I think it is more of a rightful disappointment and hurt that you feel- your father is wrong, immature, irresponsible, neglectful and selfish-I could go on- but I think you get the picture

My mother always favored me- I was the oldest and from childhood on I was her favorite-- It was not really noticeable as young children but the real problem came when the grandchildren came-because she favored mine (at least two of them) and it was very obvious to my brother and sister, their children, and to my other children

Your father is out of line. If a parent favors one child over the others-no child should ever be able to figiure it out. That is one of the few things that the parent could have done for the kids they didn't favor. Act in a way so that the less favored ones never felt less favored.

Most however, are too selfish to do this- and they stumble thru life screwing all the kids up- if given the chance

I tried to ignore it, I tried to accept it as her problem and I tried to help my children handle it- but the botton line was, that no matter how we handled it- my mother hurt my siblings and eventually my kids, and the other grandkids

My sister will have nothing at all to do with my mother, and my brother is a messed up adult who has nothing in life and hates my mother to this day, and all of the other grandkids think less of themselves because grandma didnt love them

My oldest and youngest children-who were the favored ones-do not want anything to do with her because they are now old enough to see how unfair she has been and the other 2 who she ignored are just hurt and resolved that they never had a grandma and never will

You need to realize that if your father really truly does favor the one- that he is never going to change. You can not make anyone love someone that they do not love

But if the man noticeably shows favoritism- keep him away from all of your children. Do not do it angrily-simply accept it as a fact of life-but do it- he is an emotional danger and it is your place to protect your children from emotional dangers.

Good luck with this, as it is one of those things in life that is unfair and usually stays unfairWhat to do when a parent favors a child?
Don't feel jealous, your father may be living vicarious through your brother, and your brother may want/need his attention and will do anything to get it. It may even bring hatred towards your other siblings and the favored brother. Did anyone else get married or is he the first? This could play an important factor.
yeah i know the feeling you must be related to my family my dad is like that with my sister and her child. ha ha too bad for them they are all nutty anyhow, ignore their stupidity, and move on with your life, it's tough but it will never change
There's really nothing you can do. Even if you talk about it with him, he'll still favor him, just not so outwardly. That might be okay for you though. Just tell him to stop playing favorites around you.
Talk to him about it. Other than that there's nothing you can do. Deal with it.

How do I convince my parents into getting horseback riding lessons?

I love horses and want to start getting lessons, but my parents keep saying that its really expensive. I dont want them to ruin my love of horses. Please help! How do I convince my parents into getting horseback riding lessons?
Ask them if they can make time to sit down and discuss this. Many parents use this as a cop-out. I am 51 and it worked for me with my children. But it shouldn't be the way a question is answered. As I mentioned, ask to discuss the pros %26amp; cons together with you. Do some research first. How much does it cost ? This includes more than just a training fee. It also means clothing, time spent ,etc. Every parent wants the best education for their children. Horsemanship is a highly recomended sport . It can bring a child out of a 'shell' ,so to speak. It engenders responsibility, and creats bonds that carry over into life patterns. Please, don't argue with them. It may take a few times discussing it to get the results you are looking for. You must be very mature to be in close proximity to a 1,000 pound of uncertainty. Show that maturity at home. Keep it up, and you will be surprised at the results. How do I convince my parents into getting horseback riding lessons?
I'm no sure how old you are but what you could always do is try and find a job at a horse ranch. And once you get to know the owners and staff you could probably do that on your free time for free. Who knows even get paid to ride horses.

Why is it that a parent feels embarassed to reprimand a child in public?

Many times I have seen a child screaming for something at a shopping centre. Instead of calmly saying no and dealing with the situation, the parent is afraid to discipline the child or just say NO AND GIVES IN ?Why is it that a parent feels embarassed to reprimand a child in public?
I'm not afraid to reprimand my own children in public. How else do we keep them in line? If they know they can act up without consequence simply because we're at the grocery store, then they'll become little hellions. My rules are the same, no matter where we are.Why is it that a parent feels embarassed to reprimand a child in public?
In my opinion parents shouldn't give in. BUT i feel the reason they do this is because, they may not be positive as what to do in public, or they don't appropriate other people staring and putting there opinions in there. As well as in some cases it is a good lesson to allow the child to have there tantrum. Either way, no matter the reasons, here's my tips for viewers of the tantrum.. MIND YOUR BUSINESS, it is not your child so do not stare it is rude, also do not make comments to the parent, if they want advice they will seek it out. Unless you see a parent choking or doing serious damaged to the kid, leave them alone. That is another reason parents dont discipline, they are fearful of protective services being involved and they smack their kids booty or something.

Parents learn the tools you need to avoid yelling at your kids or giving in(giving in promotes more tantrums)
There are times when the child is in the right. Unfortunately we do not always no the circumstances. Could be the kid had an early sugar breakfast, no lunch, no nap, been out shopping with the 'adult' all day and it's now suppertime . . .

And then there are those who over do it. I had a Mom constantly reprimanding her child not to be in the 'gentleman's' [questionable description of me] way while I could see the child and she was just being a kid (no more than six or eight feet away from Mom all the while, just enjoying the 'sights' of the grocery store (which was not busy at the moment).
I don't think they are embarrassed as much as they are concerned/afraid to. Most these days feel to discipline a child in public is to humiliate them and that it is a horrible act to do so. Many people, although they do not believe that it takes a village to raise a child (meaning other people to step up and say, hey kiddo, you are not supposed to be doing that) are more than willing to put their two cents in when it comes to a parent disciplining their children. Basically, they really expect them parents to have well-behaved children, they just don't want to see how you do it for if they do they know they will most certainly not approve of it.

Edit: Lol, I just thought of a really funny incident I witnessed at Walmart (funny to watch but not funny for the parent). This gentleman was obviously on an outing w/his two sons, one really rather well-behaved and one, well, to be desired for. Anyway, the one to be desired for was informed by his father that he was either permitted to bring home a video game or a toy, not both. The boy told the father that he was going home with both. The father then proceeded to tell him he had to the count of three to decide or he was going home with nothing. The father made it as far as two when he began to plead w/his son. This, the counting then pleading back to counting again, carried on for better than fifteen minutes (I was stuck in the video section with my son who was painstakingly weighing his options with his hard earned snow shoveling money) with the well-behaved son not only looking mildly frustrated and quite embarrassed to boot.
    Most parents have no problem reprimanding their children in public. Sure there are isolated cases, like the one you describe, where the parent is at wits end and ';cave-in.';

You might also be witnessing the ';pre-nap meltdown'; and the parent is smart enough to know the child is just acting out of exhaustion. There's no point in fighting a child who's over-tired. The part you don't see is that child falling asleep the second they're in their car seat, headed home.
Because, they're afraid or embarrassed at what others may think. I think it's embarrassing when my kid acts out in public, and it seems like I have no control. But I'm not afraid to discipline my kid in public, anymore. It used to be so frustrating to go anywhere with my son, cause he would act out or be so active and it would frustrate me, so I had to sacrifice a few months of picking up and leaving the store, which he got it worst if I had to. After that, he learned ';If mommy has to leave the store because of me...I'm in big trouble';. Now, it's not so bad, of course I get the occassional ';I want this';, ';buy me this';. But if I say NO, most likely he wont get it, cause I am a sucker for him, but he needs to learn, I mean what I say.

I used to care what others may think, but why ? As long as I'm not abusing my child or taking it out of porportion, they need to mind their business. Any real parent knows what others see may seem severe, but they don't live with you.

I remember one time I saw this lady yell at her kid because she asked to get something to eat at the food court. I thought ';Wow, what a bad mom, her kid is hungry, why yell at her like that'; ?. Than, one day we had plans for a busy day, We ate before we left the house, but my son refused to eat. When we stopped for a meal during the day, he refused to eat again. I at that time got frustrated (because, I could already see what was going to happen), in the middle of our day at the mall as I was ';power shopping';, my son kept complaining ';Mommy Im hungry';, I got so frustrated at him, and said angrily ';NOW YOU HAVE TO WAIT';....he kept complaining. I bet in the other peoples eyes, I looked like a bad mom. And, I thought about that lady and her daughter. After that, I stopped caring what others think. Now, I just prepare myself. I bring a bag of snacks and juice for those moments. And, have it ready just in case, not only for my son but for me too.
I don't think people are, but I think you just get worn down....I don't say no and give in, I usually leave.

That said....I have one child who is a saint....seriously...so well behaved it concerns me...his sister is a MONSTER....no matter what, no matter where, there is usually something.

I used to find myself smug and judgemental against other parents until I had her...I love her with all my heart, but I've learned there are times where you have to get things done and if it means a screaming kid in the store...sorry folks..I only do it in emergencies, otherwise I wait for my husband or leave her with my mom.

Some maybe a bit lazy and afraid to parent...it may be habit..or it may be a REALLY off day where they just came from the oncologist and were told the cancer is back and they are just too tired battle anymore that day.......you really have no way of knowing do you?
i think a lot of it is because of the looks you get from non-parents. i personally don't care. if my son is misbehaving then i'll gladdly tell him off or take him right out of the store and go home where he can go to bed because he's obviously got to be tired.

if he was being an all out brat like laying on the floor screaming and kicking i would either just stand and wit until he was finished or ,if its safe and he was old enough, walk just out of his site (while still keeping a close eye on him)

it annoys me when people give in so easily. they set them selfs up for a horrible little brat of a child!
so the parents dont rip thier eyeballs out from frustration,is why they give in.can you imagine a child throwing a tantrum for an hour or 2 straight, while your trying to get things done..in your ear nonstop?? i can,..it isnt fun.its actually frazzling.to each his own.but the parents should say something like 1 more time bucko and your going to be punished.and follow through when they go home, but do keep them satisfied at the store.but do not give in after your home.stick with the punishment.
Because there was a lot of backlash about that kind of discipline at the height of babyboomer parenting. Everything was supposed to be ';positive';. Abuse or poor parenting seems to be aligned with anything that is not flowers and unicorns.
i have a few times were it has happend to me

a lot of the times its cos u just dont wanna deal with the stress

or u feel like everyone is gona judge the way you deal with you kids its hard to control a kè°‹d when he or she has a bad temper
What do you mean, just in public??

People can't even say no at home these days, and when they do, baby starts crying crocodile tears, and it's all *there there baby, Mummy is sorry*
Simple. No backbone! They let the child rule the house so, why would they not let the child rule when in public?
For fear of some ';do gooder'; reporting them for abuse!! Everyone feels they have to act like perfect parents.
They fell like that the other adults around will think the parent is a bad trainer for kids.
parents give in so we are not jugded by others and dont screamm at the top of our lungs like some mad person ha ha

How can you tell your parents that you may have a depression problem?

I would just like to know a way to approach my parents that i may have a depression problem and that i need help. How can you tell your parents that you may have a depression problem?
Don't tell your parents. I've tried that and it doesn't help. Tell your friends instead because they won't smother you with unneeded affection and treat you like a little kid.How can you tell your parents that you may have a depression problem?
it's hard i know. i though/think i have OCD... and i'm depressed. i told my parents i thought i had OCD.. and they laughed and told me and thought it was a joke. after pestering them my dad finally said i would grow out of it. i bugged my mom about getting an appointment with the psychiatrist and finally got one.

you could maybe just go to the school counseler. or tell your parents that you want to go to the psychiatrist or a therapist, when they ask you why tell them you think you're depressed. it's always easier for me to have them ask the questions instead of me telling them the whole thing.

    good luck to you!
well you walk up to them and tell them that you don't feel good . and when they ask what is wrong tell them..? really simple and once they know what you are talking about they will get you the help that you need.

parents do listen it is the kids that don't come and talk to us..

we can't do anything unless we know that there is a problem.

so just tell them.. they can get you on some meds or find out the reasons that you are feeling the way that you feel.

like in any of your future relationships you have to communicate

learn it now and it will be easy later on in life also.
carefully, i don't know your parents, i know that some may seriously overreact. i never had to tell my parents, they kind of just figured it out, and now they are okay with it... parents seem to have a need to cure their kid's ailments (naturally) so hopefully they are supportive and all...

don't get your friends involved, they usually won't understand and it usually just makes it worse (i found it annoying)
Go to their room at night knock on the door and go in and tell them. That would be the most private way. In the living room when they are watching tv, turn it down and tell them you want to talk. There are many times, you choose which one. There is no shame in having a problem.
Ask them if you can sit down and talk to them. Then tell them that you think you are depressed and why and that you think you need to see a professional.
just tell your parents upfront, most parents are really caring and wants to know what is happening in their child's life that could be upsetting them. Parent are normally understanding and will seek the help that you need.
Just tell your parents that you think you may have a depression problem. Back it up with what seems to indicate that. Tell them you may need help. If they don't accept that, tell them what help you think might help you and why.
Be upfront and honest with them. tell them how you are feeling and what you are thinking. Then ask to see a professional. If they don;t like the idea, then you will need to speak with a professional at school to get the help you seem to be seeking. i hope your parents listen and help you.
i went thru this 2 years ago. I didnt know how to tell them either.

But one day we were in the car (my mom %26amp; i) and she asked me why i was so moppy all the time. I didnt mean to tell her like i did but it just blurted out. Out of nowhere i said i was depressed.

So its doesnt matter how u say it, just say it.

What are the odds two parents of an infant will die?

My wife and I were recently chosen as God parents. I'm just curious how much of a cultural necessity it is to nominate someone for the role in the event of both parents meeting their end. Is this a practice that dates back to the days of massive famine, plague, or spontaneous combustion of the parents in the magical time of miracles like when jesus walked on water and what not? What are the odds two parents of an infant will die?
In my experience, being God Parents doesn't mean that you receive the baby if the parents become deceased. It is to provide spiritual guidance (and sponsorship) to the child.

Guardianship is secured through the parents Will (a binding legal document). What are the odds two parents of an infant will die?
I don't think their is a source for a statistic like this. Nowadays it's for the purpose of assuring the spiritual needs of the child are looked after rather than the material ones met. Whatever the intentions were, stuff does happen and it's good to cover a base like this ahead of time rather than when it's too late. While the chances are a lot slimmer than it was in the ages when the best we could hope for in longevity was 35-40 years and women died in childbirth all the time as the men would pass on due to war or less than good work or medical conditions; wills are made out, insurance is bought and choices are made in advance for these types of concerns.

Well in my experience you can convince them of how she/he changed into a good person. Tell you're parents the good things that would happen instead of like we might get lost and run out of gas or something.

How do colleges know that you've moved out of your parents?

I just received my financial aid for the year and I was thinking of moving out, but am now planning on staying home. Would my college be able to find out that I have not moved out? How?How do colleges know that you've moved out of your parents?
I'm not sure about nationally, but at least in Michigan it does not matter whether or not you live with your parents. Here, there is an age of independence kind of thing-I think it is 24. It's not very fair, especially for those students who do not have any kind of parental support to have to claim parent earnings for financial aid. I think too many people were ';milking'; the system by moving out, receiving aid and then still getting help from mom and dad.

But, regardless, I don't think they would know where you live. But they will be sending all of your mail to the address you provide them. Maybe they could check financial aid records, drivers license and stuff, but I can't really see them putting much effort into it since I would guess most people would be honest anyway. How do colleges know that you've moved out of your parents?
It is actually more beneficial for you to list living away from parents. This is because you get money for living expenses and if you live at home they assume that you are not paying rent and therefore take that into account.

How long is it til' children start to listen to their parents words and take their advice serious.?

When they move out on their own.How long is it til' children start to listen to their parents words and take their advice serious.?
when they become adults and their second child has arrivedHow long is it til' children start to listen to their parents words and take their advice serious.?
when they turn 42..no really when kids used to be at thirteen yrs of age now it's 4 anyways when they were thirteen u r REAL stupid but when they turn about in their 30s u become REAL SMART!!!!
Well for me,I took some of it when I lived at home. For the most part though,I didn't realize that they knew what they were talking about until I got married.I think once they experience real life, they kinda realize that mom %26amp; dad knew what the were talking about.
Guessing around 30ish, give or take a couple of years.
usually not until they are adults and have kids of their own....
I'm 20 and I'm only half way there. Kids need to learn on their own. You can tell em 100 times not to do something but they will do it until they get burned.
I could not tell you. I am in my mid 30s and I still dont listen to my parents advice. The only reason is, is that they grew up in very very different times and they are giving me advice that would have worked 50 years ago (my father is 73 my mother is 61) so that is why I dont. But I think for the most part many children dont because they are going to do what they feel is best for them and in the end everyone is their own person and you can give advice till you are blue in the end they will do what they feel they want to do. Dont get me wrong. As a parent myself of 2 boys I do tell my kids what they need to do and what I feel is best for them to do. It does not mean you should not give advice but truth is they wont always adhere to it.
Somewhere in the early to mid twenties. Once they have had a few years on their own and they see what the real world is about.

I only just in the past year or so started listening to my parents, and im 24. I respect their opions now, but that doesnt mean that I am always going to go with their advice. Ultimatly, I have to make my own choices and do what I think is best for me. What my parents want may not be what I want. But atleast I listen now.
depends on the advice that was given- i am 24 and married- and the only thing i listen to my mother about is pregnancy/child birth. I was always told one thing while my parents did annother. but the more inconsistant you are the more kids see through it. the hardest part about growing up and reflecting situations with your parents is when they dont remember 1/2 the stuff they did-or said.

My parents come to me for advise. i tell them what to do. and they listen. i guess i have just learned from their mistakes rather than to follow in their foot steps.

children need to have their own space-and not feel threatend by their elders-so they wont be afraid to come to you for advice on something they are having problems with
Depends on the person. i listen to my parents most of the time, take their advice. Sometimes i agree with what they say, sometimes i dont.. i know im in another part of my life than them, thus i have a different mindframe (and will, in the future, probably agree with a few things i dont agree with now). It doesnt mean im right, and it doesnt mean they are right (just for being older and wiser).
I am 15 and my bro is 17 and I think my parents are still having serious issues with this. Good Luck!
I think children should always be respectful to their parents and listen politely. But it doesn't matter what age they are - they will have their own ideas on what to do and how to do it.

I think sometimes parents should wait until the children ask them for advice.
im 20 with a 4mth old of my own and i still dont listen to my mothers advice!! ( single 20yr old mother, babies father is a tool, mum warned me!!)
they always listen -even when we think they aren't.
depends on the kid. but most kids hate taking thee parents advice. help them, but let them figure things out forthemselves. dont tell them what to think. but talk to them in a way which they will come up with your view themselves. they will feel good about themselves if they figure it out themselves

Help! How do I get a grant for college when my parents have bad credit? Should I get married first?

I'm planning to get married in a couple years, but I'm trying to go to college. My parents have bad credit and they say they can't get loans and that a grant is a long shot or something...they are acting like I can't even do it. But I want to. Would I have a better chance of getting loans and things when I'm declared independent from them and do newly married couples have a better shot at getting loans? Help!Help! Sarah, have you consider to apply for scholarship that you don't have to pay back? Some friends of mine in college told me that they have valuable information regarding scholarships from this place.

Bad credit is always an obstacle when you need finance. Lenders won't grant money to someone they think won't be able to repay it and that's what bad credit tells them. Thus, further assurance of repayment needs to be offered in order to convince them. The key is to use the benefits of certain types of loans to your advantage and find a way out whenever a loan turns out too onerous.

there are tons of grants out there, I would recommend that you get the book called ';grants for dummies';. Students loans you do not need your parents credit scored, if I was you I would go independent.
