How can a student receive financial aid if his or her parents are illegal but he or she is a citizen?

He or she is a citizen but their parents are illegal so they can give any income tax, how can they receive financial aid?








Please no hate comments or ignorant comments because this is a shame that a smart student may not be able to get financial aid cuz their parents are illegal.How can a student receive financial aid if his or her parents are illegal but he or she is a citizen?
Unfortunately their options are very limited. Because their parents are illegal and are not able to legally work in the USA, they can not provide income information to the Department of Education so they can calculate your EFC.





The only option that I see (and I'm not particularly important, you see) is for the student who IS legal to get a job and pay for school as you go. Find a community college that is inexpensive and pay as you go. Possibly working full time and going to school part time. Also I would talk to your parents and see if they can assist you with the cost since they are responsible for this situation.
