How/why does social security discriminate against illegitimate children and children of divorced parents?

Children of divorced parents are treated exactly the same as other children under Social Security law. Children born outside a valid marriage can sometimes have difficulty obtaining documentation of their relationship to the father but once the parental relationship is established under applicable state law they are treated the same as far as benefits.

Why listen to gossip when you can find the answer you seek on the Social Security web site (see link below).How/why does social security discriminate against illegitimate children and children of divorced parents?
Can you give an example? I know that illegitimate children are considered a constitutionally protected class, and any discrimination is subject to mid- level scrutiny.How/why does social security discriminate against illegitimate children and children of divorced parents?
