How should I convince my parents to let me get a dog?

I'm a 15 year old high school girl who really wants a dog! I need help convincing my parents to let me get one. I also have a 13 year old cat. I come home early everyday so maybe that may help. Thanks!How should I convince my parents to let me get a dog?
You should convince them by acknowledging that(the fact that you get home early and you feel as if you need a companion.) Also mention the fact that cats don't give the feeling of security, personableness, loyalty, or love as a dog does.Cats are independant while dogs crave attention that you are willing to give should you get your way. Lastly, mention that a dog will teach you to be responsible in a way that a cat never could.

Okay, I was in the same boat as you! Trust me. What you need to do is convince your parents that it wil benefit them to let you get a dog. If they are always nagging you about not doing your homework or something, tell them that providing for an animal will teach you responsibility. At age 15, parents start freaking out about you leaving for college. They will want to be sure you are very responsible. Therefore, they may get you a dog if it will accomplish that!


P.S. If they are on the fence, offer to adopt from a shelter. It will be saving a dog's life!
I had the same problem i told my parents that i really wanted one and that i would get better grades and i really wanted a dog so for my 15 b-dy i told them that i rather have a dog then have a party the dog was only $300 and i love him so much leave little hints and bring it up alot promise them something or watch a friends dog so they can see how much you really want one well i hope you get a dog and hoped i helped!
what will happen to the dog in 3 years when you graduate and move out and cannot take the dog with you???

By showing them you are responsible, making an extra effort to take care of the cat may help.(even if it is not yours) Look on the computer about the benefits of owning a dog. They teach us allot of things. Keep your room clean etc may help also. But some people just don't understand the joy of owning a dog. Good luck and maybe when you are on your own it will work out.
Talk to your parents. Ask them! What did they say when you told them about wanting a dog? Did they have a good reasoning behind saying no?





You know your parents better than we do!





Plus, your going to college in a few years. What happens when you leave? They are stuck with a dog they don't want! Try fostering dogs for your local shelter instead :)

Well you should tell them that you think that you are old enough, and that you know you would be responsible enough. You would take care of them and love him/her. I'm 13 and it took me a lot of convincing. But also make sure you are ready.
tell them why cant you have a dog your response able to have a cat a dog is loyal if they say no then there maybe be nuts in their head
