It is for the benefit of the parents not the child. The child will act out if it is to early for them to be potty trained. Let the child decide on their own. have you seen a 5 year old not potty trained? I haven't seen any 5 year old that won't potty trained. Why are so many parents in such a hurry to potty train their child?
Because diapers are expensive; build up in the land fill, and they're smelly too. Also, you don't need to pack as much stuff to go places if you don't need diapers.
It really depends on the parenting style, some parents follow new guidelines on when experts think a child is ready, which usually isn't until at least 2, and others just kind of go with the flow and start whenever. Why are so many parents in such a hurry to potty train their child?
Because they falsely believe that their child will be crapping their pants in kindergarten if they don't force their kid to use to potty. :)
Which is ironic, because if you force a child to potty-train before they are ready, they are more likely to wet the bed throughout childhood and have accidents.
I'm not really in a huge ';hurry'; to get my son potty trained. But he's 18 months old and has shown an interest (runs toward the bathroom, holding his diaper and screaming ';pee! pee!';). Plus, I've got another one due in April so it wouldn't be bad if I had the first one out of diapers by then. I don't think you should rush your kids when they aren't ready...but I don't think you should ignore signs that they are either.
1) To save the environment from disposable diapers
2) Saving cost by not having to buy expensive diapers
3) Avoid having to worry about soiled clothing.
4) Kids look better in their clothes without those bulky diapers.
5) The kids won't be teased by others if they are getting older in age.
Because diapers are expensive, inconvenient, and many babies get bad diaper rash from all the chemicals in them. Plus, there comes a time when little ones just need to take the step to becoming a big kid.
probably because changing dipaers is a pain.... I'm not in a hurry though, i figure that when my son is ready, he will do it.... my son will be 2 next month.
